Dear Professional Colleague:
The membership of the Texas Association of College and University Police Administrators would like to extend you an invitation to join its ranks. The Association is a close knit organization of police professionals who recognize the value of strong personal ties with other members of our profession. Through the Association, members are offered an opportunity for professional development. TACUPA has been a growing and essential factor in the development of campus law enforcement for over thirty years. The effectiveness of the Association's leadership is demonstrated in the stability and strength of the law enforcement agencies represented by its membership. We now ask you to join us.
Institutional membership entitles your agency to
certain advantages such as:
Close relationships and associations, developed over the years, have aided in
problem solving, development of procedures, development of training, and
exchange of ideas. It is invaluable to have a roster of consultants at your
fingertips. These factors, and so many others which embody TACUPA, enable us to
assist one another in providing the safe, crime-free learning environment so
necessary to higher education.
Purpose
TO promote the common interest in the administration, operation, and development of police departments serving higher education.
TO foster effective administration of planning and development, operation, and maintenance of police departments through TACUPA meetings.
TO promote professional ideals and standards in
law enforcement in order to serve the educational objectives of institution of
higher learning.
Membership
Institutions and individuals are eligible for
membership in TACUPA and include any institution of higher education which
offers a degree of not less than two years academic credit, Texas State
Technological Institutions, Police Chiefs, and any Director of a University
system. Institutions shall not be eligible for membership when their routine
police program is performed by any protective company or corporation employed by
the institution under any type of contract or agreement. Annual dues are $25.00.
